Description
Northstar Academy and Career Center is the premiere school in Central Virginia promoting educational excellence and career opportunities for students with disabilities who have academic, physical, or social challenges. Students aged 5-24 receive a customized education tailored to their unique strengths. We serve 12 of the 13 IDEA-classified disabilities categories.
Northstar is a place where teachers truly get to teach. We recruit excellent faculty who have a mastery of their content area and a passion for special education. Student IEPs are written in partnership with school IEP Liaisons. With small class sizes and compassionate understanding of learning differences, teachers have the freedom to be creative educators and focus on their students, not data. We create an environment where every teacher and student can feel confident - in the classroom and beyond. We provide a small school community with competitive salary and benefits
