Description

The Speech Pathologist Range 5 is a senior professional and leadership position within Ascot Vale Heights School. The position is a member of the school's leadership team and is accountable for the effective leadership, coordination and development of Allied Health services across the school.

Requirements

As a member of the AVHS leadership team the Speech Pathologist will be responsible for the management of the following:

Leadership of Allied Health - providing leadership, coordination and direction to the Allied Health team and supporting high-quality professional practice.
Strategic leadership - contributing as an active member of the school leadership team and aligning Allied Health priorities with the School Strategic Plan and Annual Implementation Plan.
Service development and delivery - leading the development and delivery of responsive, evidence-informed Allied Health services across the school.
Professional leadership - providing expert advice, mentoring and professional support to Allied Health staff and contributing to professional learning across the school.
Staff capacity building - developing the capability of teachers and Education Support staff to support communication, participation, learning and independence.
Complex problem solving - analysing complex student, team and organisational issues and developing appropriate, sustainable responses.
Continuous improvement - using evidence, data and professional knowledge to evaluate and improve Allied Health practice and service delivery.
Initiative and Disability Inclusion Leadership - demonstrated ability to lead significant school initiatives, projects and Department priorities within the scope and complexity of the role, including strategically leading the Disability Inclusion Profile process
