Position Summary:
The incumbent in this position plans and administers speech-language pathology evaluations, as well as implements appropriate treatment to Seminole Tribe of Florida’s children referred to Integrative Health’s Children’s Center for Diagnostics & Therapy (CCDT) Program, Tribal-wide. The individual conducts speech, language and hearing screenings to identify children in need of diagnostic evaluations; conducts diagnostic speech, language, voice, fluency, functional communication and augmentative communication evaluations, to identify children’s needs; administers and provides treatment to clients and documents provision of treatment. The individual performs as a liaison and coordinates services with STOF’s support staff and clients.
Essential Responsibilities:
Conducts and evaluates speech, language and hearing screenings to identify Seminole Tribe of Florida’s children in need of diagnostic evaluations.
Conducts diagnostic speech, language, voice, fluency, functional communication and augmentative communication evaluations to identify children’s needs.
Develops a balanced program for children’s oral communication and speech improvement.
Assists and guides families and children’s teachers in observing, describing and referring suspected/identified speech and language impairments.
Provides thorough assessment and diagnosis of children’s speech, as well as voice and language impairments.
Supervises the work performed by the Speech and Language Pathology Assistants (SLPA’s) accordingly and ensures compliance in accordance with the therapeutic disciplines through licensure board.
Identifies possible services required for the child via the CCDT’s Program treatment team.
Requirements
Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology is required. A minimum of three (3) years of related experience is required; youth and adult treatment experience is preferred. Florida License as Speech-Language Pathologist is required. Individual must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License. Demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft software packages required. Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to speak the Creek and/or Miccosukee language is preferred. Ability to travel and work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
