Description
SUMMARY OF CLIENT'S DESCRIPTION OF THIS OPPORTUNITYProvide direct support to students with special needs in a classroom setting. Paraprofessionals will assist with academics, classroom routines, behavior support, transitions, and daily living skills while working closely with teachers and school staff.
CLIENT'S LOCATION
Schools are located in Rosell, IL and surround suburbs
DESCRIPTION OF CLIENT'S DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES < /b>
* Provide direct classroom support to students with autism, developmental disabilities, emotional disabilities, and other special needs in a therapeutic day school setting.
* Assist the teacher in implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), behavior intervention plans, and instructional activities.
* Support students with academic tasks, communication development, social skills training, and daily living skills.
* Assist with behavior management strategies and crisis intervention techniques as directed by classroom staff.
* Provide one-to-one and small-group support to help students meet educational and behavioral goals.
CLIENT'S REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE< /b>
* Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting preferred
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to follow direction and work collaboratively with school staff
* Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude
* Experience supporting students with special needs is a plus
* Minimum education requirement: High School Diploma or equivalent (associates or higher preferred)
