Evaluating & Treating Occupational Therapist (Full-Time or Part-Time)
Carolina School Services is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to provide both evaluations and direct treatment services for students in school-based settings throughout Raleigh and surrounding communities. This position is available on a full-time or part-time basis and offers flexibility, autonomy, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' success.
Position Details
Schedule: Full-Time or Part-Time
Location: Raleigh and surrounding areas
Travel: Required, with drive times of up to one hour to assigned school sites
Work Arrangement: Student evaluations and treatment sessions must be completed on-site. Documentation, reports, treatment planning, and related paperwork may be completed remotely from home.
Compensation
$55-$65 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
Responsibilities
Conduct occupational therapy evaluations and screenings in school settings
Provide direct occupational therapy treatment services to students
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and goals
Complete evaluation reports, progress notes, and required documentation
Collaborate with teachers, families, administrators, and interdisciplinary team members
Participate in IEP meetings and provide recommendations to support student success
Maintain compliance with school, state, and federal requirements
Qualifications
Current North Carolina Occupational Therapy license
Pediatric and/or school-based experience preferred
Strong assessment, treatment, and documentation skills
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to assigned school sites

Requirements
Key Responsibilities
Conduct occupational therapy evaluations using standardized assessments, observations, and interviews.
Interpret assessment results and prepare comprehensive evaluation reports with recommendations.
Develop and implement individualized therapy plans to support student success in the school environment.
Provide direct occupational therapy services focusing on fine motor, gross motor, sensory, visual-motor, self-care, and functional school skills.
Monitor progress and adjust interventions to meet student needs and IEP goals.
Collaborate with families, teachers, and multidisciplinary team members to support student achievement.
Participate in IEP meetings, annual reviews, and reevaluations.
Recommend accommodations, adaptive equipment, and environmental modifications as needed.
Maintain accurate, timely documentation and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and professional standards.
Qualifications
Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist in North Carolina.
Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
Experience providing occupational therapy evaluations and treatment services for pediatric populations, preferably in a school-based setting.
Strong knowledge of standardized assessment tools, evaluation procedures, and evidence-based intervention practices.
Understanding of IDEA, IEP processes, and special education requirements.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational, time management, and documentation skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to assigned school locations.
Preferred Qualifications
School-based occupational therapy experience.
Experience participating in IEP meetings and educational team collaboration.
Knowledge of assistive technology, adaptive equipment, and sensory integration strategies.
