Cayman ABA provides evidence-based behavior-analytic services to children and families across the Cayman Islands. We offer comprehensive early intervention (EIBI) for children under mandatory school age and focused, Behaviour Analyst direct intervention services for school-age children, alongside assessment, behavior support planning, and training for caregivers and school teams.

Role Summary

The Behaviour Analyst delivers focused, individualized behavior-analytic intervention to children and adolescents aged 5 to 17, as well as stakeholder training.  In this role, the Behavior Analyst is the primary provider of direct services, supported by assistant Behavior Analysts, rather than overseeing a technician-delivered model. The Behaviour Analyst is responsible for assessment, program design, hands-on intervention, data-based decision-making, and collaboration with families and schools.

The Behaviour Analyst also contributes to Cayman ABA's broader service lines, including Functional Behavioral Assessment (FBA), Behavior Support Plan (BSP) development, and caregiver and stakeholder training across home, school and community settings.

Key Responsibilities

Direct Intervention (Primary Focus)

       Deliver direct, one-to-one and small-group intervention to children and adolescents aged 5–17 across school, home, and community settings

       Conduct skill and preference assessments and develop individualized treatment plans with measurable, socially significant goals

       Implement and continuously refine intervention targeting areas such as communication, social skills, adaptive and daily living skills, school readiness and classroom participation, emotional regulation, and reduction of challenging behavior

       Collect, graph, and analyze data during and between sessions to guide clinical decisions

       Plan for generalization and maintenance of skills across people, settings, and materials

       Prepare progress reports and treatment updates for families, schools, and other stakeholders

Supervision and Collaboration with Assistant Behavior Analysts

       Direct, support, and mentor assistant Behavior Analysts who assist with service delivery

       Provide clear session plans, modeling, and performance feedback to ensure high-quality, consistent implementation

       Monitor treatment integrity and provide ongoing coaching in accordance with BACB supervision requirements

       Contribute to a collaborative, learning-oriented team culture

Functional Behavioral Assessment and Behavior Support Planning

       Conduct FBAs, including indirect assessment, direct observation, and, where appropriate, functional analysis

       Develop clear, practical, function-based Behavior Support Plans for clients across school, home, and community settings

       Monitor plan effectiveness and revise plans based on data

Caregiver and Stakeholder Training

       Train parents, caregivers, teachers, and other stakeholders to implement strategies effectively and consistently

       Use evidence-based training methods, including modeling, rehearsal, and performance feedback

       Communicate clearly and respectfully with families and school staff, translating behavior-analytic concepts into practical language

Collaboration and Professional Practice

       Collaborate with schools, educators, and other professionals (e.g., speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, psychologists) to support coordinated care

       Participate in team meetings, clinical case discussions, and professional development

       Maintain accurate, timely documentation in accordance with organizational policies

       Uphold the BACB Ethics Code for Behavior Analysts and all applicable confidentiality and child-safeguarding standards

       [Optional/future] Contribute to the development of Cayman ABA's workshop-model supervision service, in which paraprofessionals hired by schools or parents implement behavior-analytic plans designed by Behavior Analysts

Qualifications

Required:

       Current BCBA certification in good standing with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) or QBA certification in good standing with the QABA Board or IBT certification in good standing with the IBAO

       Master's degree or higher in behavior analysis, psychology, education, or a related field

       Demonstrated experience delivering direct behavior-analytic services to school-age children and/or adolescents

       Working knowledge of FBA and behavior support plan development

       Strong skills in data collection, graphing, and data-based decision-making

       Excellent written and verbal communication skills

       Ability to obtain the required work authorization and satisfactory background/police clearance for work with children in the Cayman Islands

       Reliable transportation is required; employees are expected to obtain transportation and a drivers license within their first month of employment

Preferred:

       Experience working in school settings and collaborating with educators

       Experience providing caregiver or staff training

       Experience supervising or mentoring assistant Behavior Analysts or other team members

       Experience with a wide range of learner profiles, including learners with autism, developmental disabilities, and co-occurring behavioral or emotional needs

       Familiarity with naturalistic, play-based, and assent-based approaches, and with trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming practice

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

       Services are delivered in schools, homes, community settings, and the clinic location, requiring regular travel between sites

       Work involves active engagement with children, including sitting on the floor, standing for extended periods, and, at times, use of approved safety and crisis-prevention procedures

       Under normal circumstances the employee will need to have the physical capacity to continuously use his/her hands for simple and firm grasping and fine manipulation. The employee may be required to do the following:

       Physically able to respond quickly from any position, walk quickly or jog short distances, stand on feet for a minimum of 15 minutes

       Lift and carry 25-100 lbs.

       Push / Pull up to 150 lbs.

       Squat / Kneel / Stoop

       Bend

       Twist upper, and lower back
