CONTEXT OF THE JOB:
Horn Entrepreneurship serves as the University of Delaware's creative engine for entrepreneurship education and advancement. Built and actively supported by successful entrepreneurs and thought leaders, Horn empowers aspiring innovators and entrepreneurs as they pursue new ideas for a better world. Due to its growing and nationally recognized impact, Horn personnel and programming are transitioning to serve as the foundation for a new School of Innovation & Entrepreneurship, which will be housed in the Lerner College of Business and Economics.
In this new position, the School Partnerships Manager will work under the limited direction of the Assistant Director, Horn Youth, and play a central role in advancing Horn's flagship high school programs by cultivating, securing, and stewarding school partnerships.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Partnership Development and Sales
Maintain deep knowledge and expertise pertaining to Horn Entrepreneurship's youth offerings, especially all dual/companion enrollment offerings.
Aggressively grow participation in Horn's dual/companion enrollment offerings by leading direct outreach to prospective school partners in a defined geography.
Conduct meetings, primarily virtually, with school administrators and decision makers to cultivate relationships and close new partnership agreements.
Manage the full new business development pipeline from lead generation through signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), including all necessary follow-ups, connections, and support.
Develop and implement a strategic sales and marketing plan for assigned territories in collaboration with the Assistant Director and Horn's marketing team.
Utilize Salesforce to track progress, manage relationships, and generate reports related to partnership growth.
Partner Account Management
Serve as the primary business development contact for an assigned set of partner schools, including a mix of new and existing partners.
Collaborate with schools on student recruitment and course sign-ups, providing support and materials as needed.
Identify and pursue cross and upselling opportunities with current partners, including adding new courses and additional sections.
Ensure timely resigning of MOUs, invoicing, and payment collection.
School Relationship & Program Support
Help plan and execute key youth events that contribute to meaningful learning experiences for schools and students.
Support educators at partner schools during the implementation process through 1:1 meetings and group check-ins.
Represent the voice of school partners internally, identifying opportunities for new offerings and providing insights and feedback to improve existing offerings and services.
Perform other tasks, as needed, relating to program operations for Horn Youth.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in business, education, marketing, communications, entrepreneurship or a related field and at least 4 years of relevant experience.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport across differences.
Strong customer service orientation and demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholder relationships.
Knowledge of the education field, particularly high school/secondary education, strongly preferred.
Working knowledge of CRM software platforms (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot), video conferencing tools (e.g., Zoom, Teams), and Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint) preferred ability and willingness to learn and apply new technologies with training and support.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
Ability to: maintain confidentiality; work independently and/or as a team member; handle multiple assignments concurrently and re-prioritize; successfully adapt to change; and communicate effectively with stakeholders (e.g., students, faculty, teachers, school administrators, parents, and others).
Preferred knowledge, skills, and abilities include strategic planning, relationship management, consultative sales/business development, impact reporting, organization/time management and attention to detail.
