Applications are invited for appointment as Tenure-track Professor/ Associate Professor/ Assistant Professor (several posts) at the School of Computing and Data Science (Ref. 534136), to commence on September 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter. The appointment rank will be determined based on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate. For Assistant Professors, the appointment will initially be made on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal and with consideration for tenure before the expiry of the second three-year fixed-term contract, subject to satisfactory performance. Exceptionally outstanding candidates at Professor/Associate Professor level may be considered for appointment on tenure terms, subject to the University’s approval.
The School of Computing and Data Science (CDS) strives to advance education and research across the fields of computing and data science, artificial intelligence, statistical decision sciences, fintech, and actuarial science. It aims to take an integrated approach to reform these academic disciplines and foster multidisciplinary research collaboration within the University and beyond. The Positions
The positions are open to all research areas in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science or a related field, including but not limited to:
- AI / IoT / AIoT Security;
- Computer Vision;
- Computing & Big Data Systems;
- Data Analytics & Technologies;
- Data Privacy;
- Digital Forensics;
- FinTech;
- Generative AI;
- Large Language Models;
- Theoretical Computer Science;
- Quantum Computing.
The appointees will be expected to contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, supervise graduate students, conduct high-quality research, and participate in administrative duties at CDS.
Requirements
- A Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related field
- A strong commitment to excellence in research and teaching and proven qualities of academic leadership.
- A solid track record in research.
- Outstanding and internationally recognised research achievements are essential for appointment at Professor level.
What We Offer
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave, professional leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 15% of basic salary. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable. A start-up package that is commensurate with the needs and experience of the appointee will be provided.
