Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Platform Database Engineer to support and optimize enterprise database environments within a global organization. This role focuses on database performance, security, automation, and reliability while collaborating with cross-functional technical teams. The ideal candidate brings deep database administration expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
Duties & Responsibilities
Install, configure, monitor, and maintain database environments to ensure security, availability, and performance
Develop and maintain automation and data processes using SQL, PowerShell, and data integration tools
Implement data access controls and monitoring solutions
Respond to and resolve database alerts, incidents, and service requests
Perform real-time troubleshooting and end-to-end problem resolution
Manage schema changes and scripts through version control systems
Collaborate with architects, analysts, developers, and testers across distributed teams
Provide guidance on best practices, performance tuning, and database design improvements
Maintain documentation, standards, and operational procedures
Own deliverables and ensure timely, accurate completion of assigned work
Support scheduled maintenance, deployments, and rotational off-hours coverage
Identify process improvements and recommend updated standards
Requirements
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
8+ years of database administration experience supporting enterprise environments
Strong expertise in database backup, recovery, patching, security, and disaster recovery
Advanced proficiency in SQL development and performance tuning
Deep understanding of database architecture, indexing, optimization, and execution planning
Experience supporting transactional and analytical database systems
Hands-on experience with cloud database platforms and multiple database technologies
Strong analytical, organizational, and troubleshooting skills
Experience collaborating with data warehouse and analytics teams preferred
