We're looking for a Maintenance Engineer who's excited to jump in, problem-solve, and help keep our broadcast operations running at their best. If you enjoy hands-on work, learning new tech, and being part of a team that moves fast, this could be a great fit.
You'll work with a wide range of equipment, including VHF transmitters, microwave radio systems, HD-SDI routing, audio consoles, ENG field gear, live trucks, computer systems, and more. Every day looks a little different - and that's part of what makes the job interesting.
Responsibilities
Support live production, news, and weather events (including remote broadcasts).
Troubleshoot and fix equipment issues to keep things on-air and on schedule.
Jump into a fast-paced environment where teamwork and communication matter.
Use basic computer skills to support newsroom and production workflows.
Work flexible hours when needed (nights/weekends/holidays may come up).
Maintain a valid driver's license and reliable driving record.
Work closely with and report to the Director of Technology.
Qualifications
Experience in broadcasting is great but not required.
Understanding of mechanical/electrical systems is helpful.
Familiarity with satellite and RF systems, digital/analog TV equipment, non-linear editors, or ENG gear is a plus.
Experience with high-power RF transmitters is an added bonus.
Comfortable using test equipment to diagnose and measure electronic signals.
Technical degree, trade school, military training, or equivalent hands-on experience preferred - but passion and willingness to learn go a long way, too.
Any offer of employment is conditional upon the successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening, investigative background check, employment/education verifications and reference checks.
KSAT is an Equal Opportunity Employer. In addition to complying with the requirements of federal law, KSAT will comply with applicable state and local laws prohibiting employment discrimination.
