Description

You will be a key member of an investment platform focused on long-only strategy investing, driven by disciplined fundamental research and a long-term investment horizon. Your research contributions will play a direct role in supporting portfolio decision-making, particularly as the strategy continues to deepen its focus on Greater China technology, with semiconductors representing a core area of long-term conviction.

Key Responsibilities

1. Conduct fundamental, bottom-up research on listed technology companies across Greater China, with primary coverage responsibility for semiconductors.
2. Analyze and monitor semiconductor-specific trends, including chip design and process innovation, supply chain dynamics across the semiconductor value chain, end-market demand cycles (consumer electronics, automotive, industrial, AI/data centers), and geopolitical, regulatory, and policy-related risks impacting the sector.
3. Build and maintain detailed financial models, including earnings forecasts, valuation analysis, and scenario/sensitivity analysis.
4. Develop deep understanding of industry structure, technology roadmaps, supply-demand dynamics, and competitive positioning across the semiconductor value chain.
5. Track industry trends, policy developments, capex cycles, and technological shifts impacting Greater China technology companies.
6. Perform company due diligence, including management meetings, channel checks, supplier/customer analysis, and site visits where applicable.
7. Generate investment theses (long-only) with clear upside/downside analysis and risk assessment.
8. Present research findings and investment recommendations clearly and concisely to portfolio managers.
9. Monitor existing holdings and provide timely updates on earnings, material news, and changes in investment theses.

Qualifications

1. Over 5 years of equity research experience with proven Greater China technology/semiconductor sector coverage.
2. Strong understanding of semiconductor industry economics and cycles and key players across China.
3. Excellent financial modeling and valuation skills.
4. Strong analytical thinking with the ability to synthesize complex technical and financial information.
5. Experience producing actionable investment recommendations in a long-only context.
6. Excellent communication skills in English and Mandarin
7. Advanced degree in engineering, science, finance, or economics is a plus.
8. Prior experience working directly with portfolio managers in a fundamental long-only investment process.
9. Intellectual curiosity and passion for technology and investing.
10. Independent thinker with strong judgment and attention to detail.
11. Long-term mindset aligned with fundamental investing.
