Responsibilities

Position will develop, redesign, and improve building systems to reduce energy consumption. In addition, the position will program the building automation system to reduce energy.

Provides engineering designs, specifications, and cost estimates for the optimization of individual building heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and plumbing systems. Will focus on operating sequences for building that need corrective actions to contribute to campus energy savings. Provides services to the main campus, Panama City, and The Ringling.

Builds and maintains the operating schedule for all campus buildings. Develops and selects setpoints that both conserve energy while minimizing the opportunity for mold growth.

Reviews equipment submittals, proposed building energy profile, and other documents in order to ensure that new buildings conform to the campus energy policy.

Assists the campus Energy Engineer with the refinement and communication of the campus energy program. Functions as the primary liaison between the operating units.

Provide functional testing and other commissioning activities for projects that do not have 3rd party commissioning. Compares the EOR energy model for buildings with actual performance to ensure that the design met expectations.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial Engineering.

Ability to identify trends, predict impact of actions on system operations, detect discrepancies in the function of an organization, and take necessary action to correct performance.

Ability to develop and implement policies, procedures, goals, and objectives.

Ability to convey technical information to technical and non-technical users.

Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Knowledge of the principles and practices of project planning, development, and evaluation.

Knowledge of principles, concepts, and methodology in designing, estimating, planning, and inspecting construction projects and managing project schedules.

Knowledge of processes, procedures, and methods used in master planning.

Ability to maintain accurate records and retrieve files from active or archive sources. Basic filing practices to include numeric and alphabetic systems.
