Job Title: Supplier Quality Engineer
Location: Watertown, SD (works on-site)
Work Status: US Citizenship or Permanent Residency required; We can not sponsor work Visas.
About the Role:
As a Supplier Quality Engineer at Spartronics you'll be responsible for driving suppliers to reach and sustain quality, delivery and cost performance levels in line with set targets.
What a Day Looks Like:
- Establish action plans with all internal parties and suppliers involved. Maintain contractual records and documentation agreements that are established with the suppliers.
- Drives internal actions and improvement (Lean sigma implementation, Quality Improvement plans, Min/Max Vendor Managed Inventory) to reach quality, cost and delivery targets.
- Monitors supplier Key Performance Indicators. Seeks feedback and communicates with internal areas to validate corrective action plans.
- Monitors Supplier Production readiness to volume forecasts. Manages supplier's progress or recovery plans.
- Validates new suppliers in conjunction with Quality, Procurement, strategic sourcing and other parties involved.
- Manages the identification and resolution of potential issues or obstacles.
- Partners and interfaces with senior management in developing supplier performance.
- Work with suppliers to resolve product complaints and delivery issues.
- Promote collaboration between departments.
- Issue N/C material rejections and track, investigate and resolve supplier quality issues as detected by internal processes.
- Perform audits and reviews of supplier quality systems, processes and business results for adherence to company requirements and for basis for continuous improvement.
- Contract management (various: including formal, short form, and annual contracts) - drafting, evaluation, negotiation and execution.
- Non-Disclosure Agreements, Purchasing Agreements, Sub-contracts, review of supplier terms and conditions.
- Maintain contractual records and documentation such as receipt and control of all contract correspondence, customer contact information sheets, contractual changes, status reports and other documents for all projects.
- Develop and implement procedures for contract management and administration in compliance with company policy. As appropriate, contribute to or influence company policies.
- Ensure that signed contracts are communicated to all relevant parties to provide contract visibility and awareness, interpretation to support implementation.
- Handle on-going issue and change management.
- Monitor transaction compliance (milestones, deliverables, invoicing etc.).
Safety: Ensure all assignments are performed in compliance with applicable Federal, State and company safety and health regulations, and where applicable, proper personal protective equipment is utilized.

To Excel in this role, you'll need:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with background in Manufacturing either in Quality, Supply Chain, Lean- sigma production implementation preferred.
- Self-motivated driver of quality with demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent customer communication skills.
- Experience with manufacturing processes and supplier management.
- Ability to function effectively in a team environment.
- Effective communication skills driven by attention to detail and pursuit of process improvement.
- Excellent analytical skills using Six Sigma and lean principles, Green or Black Belt Certification preferred
