About the role
DNV Energy USA, Inc. seeks a Senior Engineer to work hybrid in our Houston, TX.
Job Duties:
- Initiate and coordinate the technical review process among internal specialists including civil and electrical engineering, energy assessment, technology, and permitting teams, and synthesizing and writing due diligence reports.
- Perform overall project management activities and ensuring excellent customer communication as the key point of contact for the execution of due diligence engagements.
- Perform portions of due diligence reviews, including contract and financial model reviews, and synthesis of inputs from technical disciplines, as well as other reviews and analysis within your expertise.
- Discuss and resolve complex technical issues with project developers, lenders, and investors, including coordinating input on such issues from internal technical Specialists.
- Develop and win proposals for scopes of services related to due diligence work.
- Coordinate or perform DNV construction monitoring and site visit activities.
- Guide customers through the financial closings of projects. Participate in continuous improvement efforts including leading tool development, process refinement, digitization efforts, and lessons learned activities.
- Advance team and industry thought leadership.
- Mentor other team members and guide them through the above tasks.
- Develop business through managing key client relationships, develop new customers, conference attendance and industry networking, and develop and win proposals for scopes of services.
- This position requires 3% domestic and 3% international travel.
- Role is hybrid allowing periodic work from home within reasonable commuting distance of the Houston, TX office.
Salary range: $143,603/year

About you
Main Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, science, business, energy, or other related field of study and five (5) years of experience as a Project Manager, Consultant, Quantity Surveyor or related role where required experience gained.
Special Skills: Also requires experience in the following:
- Five (5) years in the solar industry;
- Using solutions-oriented thinking skills to resolve pressing client and stakeholder issues;
- Managing multiple, high-stakes projects to the satisfaction of clients and stakeholder under tight deadlines, including an ability to balance multiple projects at once;
- Energy industry technology including at a minimum modules, inverters, mounting systems/trackers and balance of systems;
- Solar project financing process; and
- Training others on safety best practices for construction milestone verification (mostly virtual, with occasional field visits).
