NeoGenomics is looking for aData Engineer who wants to continue to learn in order to allow our company to grow. This is a remote position with a Monday Friday, day shift.

Position Summary:
As a Sr. Data Engineer you will take a leading role in processing, orchestrating, and delivering customized data assets, ensuring the highest quality of data used in cancer genetics research and innovation. Instrumental in designing, implementing, and maintaining data engineering solutions, ensuring they meet the specific requirements of clients while adhering to best practices.
Core Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with customers to understand their data needs and requirements for tailored data assets.
- Provide accurate effort estimates and design solutions aligning with customer specifications.
- Utilize ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) and orchestration tools to process data from source systems and deliver predefined data assets.
- Implement, test, and maintain data solutions, ensuring scalability, reliability, and adherence to best practices.
- Act as a liaison between technical teams and customers, addressing queries, and providing technical support.
- Offer innovative solutions to accommodate new customer requirements, ensuring timely delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate closely with other data and systems engineers to develop comprehensive data solutions.
- Contribute to the design and development of reusable components and frameworks to streamline future implementations.
- Ensure the adherence to data governance standards, quality checks, and best practices in solution development and maintenance.
- Conduct performance tuning and optimization of data processes for efficiency.
- Limited travel on an as-needed basis
Education, Experience & Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 3+years of hands-on experience in data engineering, emphasizing ETL processes and data orchestration.
- Proficiency in ETLtools,(i.e. Microsoft SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services), Qlik, and Informatica).
- Demonstrated expertise in engineering solutions for managing, transforming and move files and objects across various storage cloud locations such as AWS S3, Azure Blob Storage, etc.
- Experience in Cloud data engineering best practices with AWS databases and Snowflake as plus.
- Experience with transfer and sharing technologies (e.g., SFTP, FTP, HTTP/S) for secure and efficient data movement.
- Familiarity with systems orchestration tools or a willingness to learn and adapt to platforms likeSnapLogicandMulesoftsolutions.
- Ability to design, implement, and optimize data workflows across heterogeneous systems and cloud platforms.
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, or similar languages for scripting and automation tasks.
- Knowledge of cloud services and their integration with data engineering processes.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, communication skills, and the capacity to work effectively both independently and in collaborative team environments.
- Experience in implementing and maintainingdata governance practices and standards.
