Assistant Professor of Practice/BA@S Online Practicum Director (Remote), Department of Behavior Analysis
The Department of Behavior Analysis in the School of Sciences and Health Professions (SSHP) invites applications for a non-tenure-track Assistant Professor of Practice/BA@Simmons Online Practicum Director (“Director”) within our online Master’s degree program. The position will be filled for a 8/1/26 start (exact date negotiable). Work is remote, with preference given to candidates who are available in a hybrid capacity. Ability to travel to Boston may be expected periodically.
We seek innovative educators and scholars with a demonstrated excellence in teaching and curriculum development, a commitment to supporting practicum placements, experience supervising student research, and a knowledge of the challenges confronting behavior analysts today. This position is fully dedicated to coordinating and supporting the Experiential Learning courses (i.e., Practicum), student thesis research projects, and ensuring compliance with accreditation standards. In addition, the position requires maintaining a teaching course load within the online master’s program, with a possibility of teaching in other department programs (e.g., doctoral or campus master’s programs).
Responsibilities include coordinating and overseeing student experiential learning site placement and supervisor assignments, student orientation, student registration, thesis coordination and tracking, tracking student experiential learning hours, conducting student performance assessments, and overseeing Practicum coursework and experiences for all online master’s students. The successful candidate will ensure fidelity and compliance with the Association for Behavior Analysts International (ABAI) accreditation standards for experiential learning coursework and thesis projects. The Director will also vet and manage practicum site and supervisor documentation, ensure supervisors and practicum faculty meet and maintain required qualifications for supervision of experiential learning coursework and thesis research, maintain supervisor records, provide supervision, support, and training to supervisors and practicum faculty within the program, and ensure compliance with program and ABAI policies and protocols.
Upon hire, the Director will be expected to complete the Simmons University practicum training, maintain ABAI, Behavior Analyst Certification Board, CITI certification, and Simmons University standards for thesis research and supervision.
Qualifications:
PhD in Behavior Analysis or a closely related field required;
Current Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA or BCBA-D ) in good standing;
Meets Behavior Analysis Certification Board standards for providing supervision;
Minimum of 5 years of experience supervising students seeking Board Certification;
Minimum of 5 years of experience supervising BCBAs or BCBA-Ds;
Minimum of 5 years of experience supervising student research;
Minimum of 5 years of experience teaching graduate-level behavior analytic coursework
A record of professional presentations and empirical research publications
Demonstrated ability to work with students across a broad range of social and personal identities and perspectives
Evidence of organizational and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated commitment to collegiality when interacting with others within the university community

Salary Range: The salary range for this position is $67,500-$82,500
