Overview
The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will lead a high-performing team of engineers in executing key manufacturing initiatives from concept through implementation. This role is responsible for driving process improvements, operational strategies, and cost-reduction projects that enhance product performance, increase efficiency, and align with the company's operational and business goals.
Working closely with engineering, quality, production, and other stakeholders, the Manager will set the technical direction for the department and ensure the successful delivery of engineering projects. The ideal candidate combines a strong engineering foundation with strategic and financial acumen, thrives in fast-paced environments, and has a proven track record of leading cross-functional initiatives that deliver measurable results in quality, cost, and throughput.
Responsibilities
- Lead, develop, and mentor a team of engineers to develop and implement manufacturing innovation projects to meet production goals and business needs
- Prioritize and balance long-term strategic projects with daily operational needs to maintain production continuity and meet business objectives
- Identify and drive process optimization opportunities to support cost-reduction and efficiency targets across product lines and manufacturing sites
- Translate organizational cost-savings goals into actionable, data-driven engineering projects
- Champion investigations into new manufacturing technologies, automation systems, and process innovations that advance manufacturing capabilities and support scalability
- Direct departmental strategy focused on improving process efficiency, quality performance, and operational cost alignment with the company's broader strategic vision
- Oversee project execution, ensuring timely delivery, accurate documentation, and adherence to technical and financial objectives while adjusting requirements and rebalancing workloads as needed
- Clearly communicate project status, risks, and outcomes to stakeholders, presenting both the technical rationale and business implications to guide decision-making
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, design, production, and planning teams to define project requirements, align priorities, and ensure smooth handoffs to production
- Standardize best practices and manufacturing processes across global production sites to ensure consistency and operational excellence across product lines\
- Develop and present technical and business documentation, tailoring communication to various stakeholders
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical discipline
- Minimum 5 years of experience (or combination of relevant post-graduate education/work experience) in an engineering role within a manufacturing environment, with demonstrated success in process improvement, validation, and cost-reduction initiatives.
- 3+ years of experience managing or leading cross-functional engineering teams or projects.
- Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies (e.g., Microsoft Project, Monday.com, Visio).
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, operations engineering workflows, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Proven ability to lead technical problem-solving, risk management, and cross-functional collaboration to achieve measurable operational improvements.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to manage multiple complex engineering projects simultaneously and balance long-term innovation with day-to-day production support to align with organizational goals and drive long-term operational excellence.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to apply practical judgment in dynamic environments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical concepts and business implications clearly to cross-functional stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced settings, effectively manage competing priorities, and deliver results under pressure.
- Strong financial literacy: experience tracking CapEx/OpEx impacts of projects, cost benefit analysis, assessing ROI, etc.
- Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or equivalent continuous improvement certification.
- Experience leading automation and systems integration projects in a production environment.
- PMP or equivalent project management certification.
- Experience supporting global or multi-site manufacturing operations.
- Multilingual proficiency (e.g., Mandarin Chinese, Spanish) is a plus for global collaboration.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to lift 20-30 lbs.
- The person in this position needs to move about the Production floor frequently
- Understanding and working with machines & mechanical systems
- Knowledge and ability to use computers & related technology efficiently
- The worker is required to have visual acuity, which is essential for tasks that require attention to detail, such as operating machinery or performing quality control
- Sitting 70% - Walking/Standing 30%

Salary Range: $103,524-$151,001
