About the Position
The position is available beginning the 2026-27 academic year as a nine-month contract. Faculty teach and work a set schedule over a nine-month academic year (August–May) with clinical rotations in some summer months. The work schedule could include day, evening, and weekend duties.
The Radiologic Technology Instructional Faculty performs a variety of instructional duties while adhering to the rules of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT). This full-time instructor position is expected to teach across multiple settings—including the classroom, skills lab, simulation, and clinical environments—based on the needs of the students and the program. The selected candidate will be trained in and utilize all instructional modalities necessary to effectively support student learning and achieve the goals of the Radiologic Technology Program.
Radiologic Technology Instructional Faculty function within the Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology program and seek to support a student-centered learning environment focused on mentoring radiology students achieve their educational goals. Radiologic Technology Instructional Faculty are allocated teaching responsibilities that achieve course, program, campus, and college outcomes. Radiology Faculty are actively engaged in community outreach, curriculum development, and evaluation of student learning outcomes. They contribute to the change processes driven by college, campus, and program strategic plans. Radiologic Technology Instructional Faculty reports directly to the Radiology Technology program director and Associate Dean of Allied Health.
Duties and Responsibilities
General Duties:
Provide instruction and mentorship to students and work with them on strategies to help them achieve academic success.
Engage in collaborative teamwork with faculty, clinical partners, and institutional stakeholders to support curriculum alignment, student learning outcomes, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Assess, monitor, and evaluate student performance and progress, ensuring Student Learning Outcomes are met at the course, program, and institutional levels.
Demonstrate effective communication with students, colleagues, and clinical partners, fostering a respectful, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
Use effective, evidence-based teaching and classroom management strategies to create an engaging, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
Continuously improve instruction through the use of appropriate delivery methods, instructional technologies, and data-informed practices.
Model and uphold professional ethics, integrity, and accountability in all instructional and clinical interactions.
Promote and reinforce core professional values, including respect, empathy, cultural competence, and patient-centered care.
Provide academic advising and mentorship to support student success, retention, and professional growth.
Maintain competency and currency in the teaching fields
Engage in professional development in current and emerging instructional approaches
Serve actively as a member of the department and discipline groups
Participate in fostering partnerships that strengthen educational opportunities in response to community needs
Represent the department and/or campus on college-wide committees
Work collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and external partners by utilizing a respectful collegial style in all forms of communication

Radiologic Science & Imaging Modalities - strong foundation in X-ray and familiarity with other modalities
Radiation Protection & Safety - application of ALARA and safe imaging practices in clinical settings

Clinical Demonstration - ability to model accurate positioning, equipment use, and patient care
Communication - clearly explaining procedures and providing supportive, constructive feedback
Foundational Instructional Delivery - ability to guide students in lab or clinical settings, even if classroom teaching is developing
Translate Clinical Experience into Teaching Moments - connect real-world scenarios to student learning

Requirements
Job Requirements
Minimum qualifications requirements for faculty positions are governed by our faculty qualification standards. This position is in an Occupational discipline and requires the following to obtain Pima Community College teaching certification:
Bachelor’s Degree (BS) AND
Current, unencumbered Arizona or compact state Radiologic Technology License AND
A minimum of two years as a Radiologic Technologist.
Holds current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification and registration.
Provide a current BLS Healthcare Provider certification card through the American Heart Association.
Submit clinical eligibility items including, but not limited to, a variety of immunizations and a health physical.
The selected candidate will:
Work a flexible schedule including afternoons and evenings as needed to meet student demand
Possibly work at more than one Pima Community College Campus, depending on need
Teach in multiple modalities, including in-person, online, and hybrid
Teach in a variety of session lengths (7 weeks and 16 weeks)
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with innovative teaching methodologies
Experience teaching online courses and/or alternative instructional formats
Experience using a Learning Management System, preferably D2L Brightspace

Degrees and courses qualifying for Pima Community College teaching certification must be from a regionally accredited college or university. Applicants currently in progress for a degree or additional coursework to meet the minimum qualifications must have the degree conferred and/or coursework completed by May 2026.
A degree from any college outside of the United States (even if the transcript is in English) may need to be evaluated by a foreign transcript evaluation service. Pima Community College requires that applicants use an evaluation agency that is a member of NACES or AACRAO's corporate partners

Teaching Philosophy Statement. In one page or less, please share your experience working with student populations typically served by Pima Community College and indicate how that informs your teaching practice and/or philosophy.
Unofficial copies of transcripts. These must be for all post-secondary degrees you have listed in your application; legible (front and back) and show the name of the regionally accredited institution, the degree conferred, and the page(s) explaining the institution's grading system; attached to the application even if they have been submitted in the past.
The selected candidate(s) must provide Faculty Qualifications & Hiring with official (unopened) transcripts and/or official (unopened) foreign transcript evaluation.
Selection Process:
The selection process typically consists of one or two advisory group interview(s), a teaching demonstration, and an administrative interview.
Candidates invited to the interview process will be chosen from those who most closely meet the stated requirements. Meeting these qualifications does not guarantee an interview.
