Description
The Department of Computing and Decision Sciences invites applications for a full-time faculty position in Information Technology Management beginning August 28, 2026, available as either a tenure-track or renewable term appointment depending on qualifications. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in IT management, enterprise systems, data analytics, and emerging technologies; develop curriculum; conduct scholarly research; advise students; and contribute to departmental service and program initiatives. Candidates should hold a Ph.D. (or be ABD) in Information Systems, IT Management, Business Analytics, or a related field for tenure-track consideration, or a master's degree with significant industry and teaching experience for a term appointment. Desired qualifications include expertise in AI, data-driven decision-making, and technology innovation, along with strong communication skills and a commitment to diversity and inclusion. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, and selected candidates may meet faculty during the Decision Sciences Institute Meeting in Orlando.Duties and Responsibilities:
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in areas such as information technology management, enterprise systems, data analytics, and emerging technologies.
• Develop new courses and update existing curriculum to reflect current trends in information systems and technology innovation.
• Engage in scholarly research and publish in peer-reviewed academic journals.
• Advise students and participate in departmental and university service activities.
• Contribute to departmental initiatives in program development, assessment, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Integrate applied, real-world experiences and technology trends into classroom instruction.
Required Qualifications:
For Tenure-Track Candidates:
• Ph.D. in Information Systems, Information Technology Management, Business Analytics, or a closely related field.
• ABD candidates will be considered, but the doctorate must be completed by August 1, 2026.
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching and potential for a strong research record.
For Non-Ph.D. Candidates (Renewable Term Appointment):
• Master's degree in Information Systems, Information Technology Management, Business Analytics, or a closely related discipline.
• Significant industry experience applying technology and analytics to business challenges (e.g., operations, marketing, finance, or supply chain).
• Prior teaching experience as a full-time or adjunct instructor.
Desired Qualifications:
• Knowledge or experience with artificial intelligence (AI), data-driven decision-making, and technology innovation.
• Ability to teach both quantitative and managerial aspects of information systems.
• Industry experience that enables integration of practical applications into academic settings.
• Evidence of strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in teaching, research, and service.
Licenses and Certificates:
• No specific licenses or certifications are required.
• Professional certifications in IT management, analytics, or project management (e.g., PMP, CBIP, CISSP, AWS, or similar) are considered advantageous.
Salary Range:
$126,000-$140,000
